My name is Ashley Heminway.
I teach 3D subjects including metalwork, enamelling, jewellery-making, plastics, mould-making.
I spent sixteen years as a hairdresser and then joined a part-time jewellery class at Hastings College in 1999, which encouraged me to re-train. I went on to take my BA in Crafts through University of Brighton. I have been teaching Craft and Jewellery-making since 2003, whilst also making and exhibiting my own work locally and nationally.
I don’t have much time for hobbies at the moment as I am studying for an MA as a Designer Maker at Camberwell College.
It’s never too late to try something new - if you want a new challenge in your life follow your heart and give it a go.
My proudest moment is having my work published in Adorn, a 2008 book on cutting edge contemporary jewellery.
