My name is Luke Davies.
I work part-time in the Sports Department at the Sussex Coast College Hastings. I teach the level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport, leading subjects such as the ‘Principles of Anatomy and the Physiology of Fitness’, ‘Psychology of Sports Performance’ and ‘Practical Individual Sports’. I also help deliver a unit on the level 2 Higher Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure, training students to plan and lead activity sessions in the community in a safe and appropriate manner.
I’m also the football coach for the 2nd men’s team - it is a growing team of popular demand who have picked up some great results this year already!
I am 23 and have always been passionate about sport and the theory behind it. I was a teaching assistant before I worked at the College, which gave me the experience and ambition to want to become a teacher. I realised that teaching was definitely for me, to inspire and motivate others about sport and exercise science. Since being at the College, I have completed the PTLLS teaching qualification and am currently in my first year of studying the PGCE at the University of Brighton.
