Josh was convinced the Army was for him. Wanting to leave home, he studied Uniform Public Services at SCCH before taking the step to join the Army.
During his studies, Josh’s circumstances changed and he found himself living with his grandparents. Surrounded by their artistic nature, he became convinced to follow his dream of studying art.
Josh has just completed a Level 3 Art & Design to an exceptionally high standard, gaining a triple distinction.
‘The teachers here are all practitioners and the facilities are excellent. The best thing about studying here is that Art is integrated across the whole College.’
‘We have worked on ceramic projects with the Hair and Beauty salon as well as a casting project with the Catering students. Hastings is a great place to study art and the college really has a community feel.’
Josh is actively working towards his goal of becoming an art teacher. He is a voluntary Art Therapy Youth Worker for the local council, a volunteer at the educational department at the local Jerwood Gallery and hopes to start a placement at Hastings Academy next academic year.
He plans to progress to study FdA Fine Art at Sussex Coast College Hastings in the next academic year.
