What will I learn?

During this two-year course you will gain a thorough understanding of the ‘science of wealth’.

Over the duration of the course you will be able to expand your knowledge and understanding of how markets work and the variables that determine market success and failure, become familiar with the concept of inflation, balance of payment and the deficit of management, while understanding how government control variables through policy instruments.

Lessons will debate the consumption of goods and services and the benefits they provide in society, while you gain a deeper insight into the origins and meaning of economics and how it has evolved over the years.

You will cover a selection of modules including:

  • How markets work and the variables that determine market success and failure
  • Government fiscal management
  • Core concepts of inflation, balance of payment and deficit management
  • Economic growth
  • Unemployment
  • How governments seek to control variables through policy instruments

You will be assessed entirely through exams. Case studies with differentiated questions will be used to test your understanding.
