What will I learn?

Our Inside Track program offers FREE training designed for anyone aged 19+ (No upper age limit) specifically for those unemployed and in receipt of benefits.

If you are unemployed and currently looking to improve your skills, you could join a number of courses, on a termly basis, to help you develop the skills that employers are looking for and gain a qualification.

Functional Skills

If you do not have GCSE’s in English and maths, our Functional Skills courses are designed to help you develop the practical skills in English and maths that you need to live, study and more importantly work.

English - (City & Guilds)

  • 11 week course - Designed to increase your knowledge and achieve a qualification
  • Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications (Depending on numbers)
  • 3 Days a week, Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday * 9:30am – 1:00pm

Math – (City & Guilds)

  • 11 week course – Designed to increase your knowledge and achieve a qualification
  • Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications (Depending on numbers)
  • 2 Days a week, every Tuesday and Friday
  • 9:30am – 2:00pm

Food Safety - Level 2 – (City & Guilds)

For those wanting to work within the Hospitality & Catering Industries this one day course will meet the minimum requirements laid down by the EU (European Union) to work within a food environment.

  • 1 day course
  • 9:30 am – 5:00pm

ICT Entry 3 (City & Guilds)

This course is ideal for those who wish to improve their basic computer skills, supporting skills for job searches and enhancing your employment opportunities

  • 5 week course
  • 2 Days a week
  • 9:30am – 2:30pm

ICT Level 1 (City & Guilds)

If you have the Entry 3 qualification you can progress onto the next level and develop your computer skills further

  • 5 weeks course
  • 2 Days a week
  • 9:30am – 2:30pm

Springboard (City and Guilds Employability & Personal Development Level 1)

This course is perfect for unemployed single parents who are looking to get back into work. The course is aimed at parents who have children between the ages of 5 – 16. Building your confidence, overcoming barriers, setting goals, planning, improving self-esteem and preparing you for work

  • Total of 10 week course
  • Tuesday – Friday
  • 6 weeks studying
  • 4 weeks work experience
  • 9:30 – 1:30pm

STEP-UP 50 + (City and Guilds Employability & Personal Development Level 1)

This course is perfect if you are unemployed, 50 years or over and looking to brush up on your employability skills and personal development. Building your confidence, overcoming barriers, setting goals, planning, improving self-esteem and preparing you for work

  • Total of 10 week course
  • Tuesday – Thursday
  • 6 weeks studying
  • 4 weeks work experience
  • 9:30 – 3:00pm

To receive any of the above training you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits: JSA, ESA, Universal Credit, Income Support, Housing benefit, Asylum seeker, Council Tax Benefit.
