What will I learn?

These qualifications provide managers with the knowledge and skills required to get the very best out oftheir team. Each level of learning is designed to improve specific managerial skills and competencies,whether they are new to management or operating at a more experienced strategic level.

Level 3 Provides the skills to effectively develop anddeliver successful coaching and mentoring,with the techniques to enable individuals andteams to achieve organisational objectives.

Levels 4 & 5 Enhance skills further by enabling managers to identify the links between coaching andmentoring and their application in achievingstrategic organisational objectives.

Typical units include: • Coaching and mentoring for individualsand team needs • Principles, skills and impact of coachingand mentoring • Coaching practice and theory • Introduction to management coachingand mentoring • Strategic impact of coaching and mentoring • Leading equality and diversity

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation’s context.

What could I progress on to?

On successful completion of a qualification in Coaching and Mentoring, a number of progression opportunities become available: Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membershipProgress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 3 Award to Level 3 Certificate etc.) Progress to other qualifications at the next level (Levels 3, 4 and 5 avaiable); Apply to become a Chartered Manager

This is ideal for people who are already working within a managemet context, or would like to move into management. This qualification provides an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to further your career within your current organisation, or to upskill yourself and prepare for a career change.

Sometimes it can be difficult to decide the right level at which to study. The guide below will help you work which level is best for you.

Entry Level

These courses are for students who want to start progressing up the qualifications levels or have no previous qualifications.

Vocational Level 1

You must have a mixture of grades E to G at GCSE to study at this level.

Vocational Level 2

You must have two grade D's and two grade E's at GCSE or a relevant level 1 qualification to study at this level.

Vocational Level 3

These courses are equivalent to A levels, you must have at least four GCSE's at grade C or above or a relevant level 2 qualification.

A Levels

A levels are level 3 courses, you must have or expect 5 A-C grades at GCSE level including Maths and English.
Foundation Degree and Degree Our university courses typically require a relevant level 3 qualification or 120 UCAS points.
