What entry requirements do I need?

You will need a minimum of: 4 GCSEs grade A*/9 - D/3 including English and maths.

What will I learn?

During the course you will build on key aspects and knowledge taught in the Level 1 course and understand how to use software, and the creative integration of audio and visual techniques, to produce ideas and materials for an interactive media context such as a web page, the internet, an intranet, an interactive product. During the course you will develop a wide range of skills and knowledge in:

  • Working with interactive media briefs
  • Video production for interactive content
  • Networking Essentials for Interactive Media
  • Web Authoring
  • Audio and MIDI sequencing techniques
  • Sound Production for Interactive Media
  • Object Oriented Programming.
  • Interactive product development

You will use your passion for working creatively on a computer to gain a more in-depth knowledge of interactive content creation.

You will be assessed through a series of coursework and practical assignments.

What could I progress on to?

On successful completion of the course you can progress onto the Level 3 Interactive Content: Games, Virtual Reality and VFX course, or start an Apprenticeship in a related area.

You may also wish to start a careers in Broadcast Media (Radio production, Visual and special effects, Cinematography and UK broadcasting), Journalism or Media.

Sometimes it can be difficult to decide the right level at which to study. The guide below will help you work which level is best for you.

Entry Level

These courses are for students who want to start progressing up the qualifications levels or have no previous qualifications.

Vocational Level 1

You must have a mixture of grades E to G at GCSE to study at this level.

Vocational Level 2

You must have two grade D's and two grade E's at GCSE or a relevant level 1 qualification to study at this level.

Vocational Level 3

These courses are equivalent to A levels, you must have at least four GCSE's at grade C or above or a relevant level 2 qualification.

A Levels

A levels are level 3 courses, you must have or expect 5 A-C grades at GCSE level including Maths and English.
Foundation Degree and Degree Our university courses typically require a relevant level 3 qualification or 120 UCAS points.
