What entry requirements do I need?

You will need a minimum of: Subject to meeting specific entry criteria -A full Level 2 Beauty qualification – Paper assessment, Trade test, good attendance and positive reference .

What will I learn?

This course is perfect if you have completed the Level 2 Beauty Therapy course and interested in the more technical side of the industry. If you would like to learn advanced theory and practice of anti-ageing treatments; treatments designed to improve skin conditions and hair removal techniques, this is the course for you.

During the course you will learn treatment techniques in the following areas:

  • Advanced face and body electrical treatments
  • Body electrical treatments
  • Facial electrical treatments
  • Swedish body massage
  • Spray and cream tanning
  • Epilation treatments
  • Planning and implementing promotional events
  • Monitoring procedures to safely control work operations

The course offers the opportunity to study the advanced electrical side of beauty therapy and build your industry skills and knowledge. You will be able to develop excellent customer and supervisory skills in our well-equipped salon and have the opportunity to visit professional beauty and spa trade shows to discover new and innovative treatments and products.

70% practical, 20% coursework and 10% exams. Practical assessments are carried out on paying clients in our commercial workshops. Essential knowledge is covered through project research, case studies, practical and written assessments and online exams.

What could I progress on to?

There are many career opportunities available after completing this course such as progression onto the Level 4 Advanced Beauty Therapy course.

You may wish to start a career in the beauty industry in roles such as a Beauty consultant, Beauty therapist, Massage therapist or Working on cruise liners

Uniform (approx. £60) and kit (approx. £100) are required for this course. Course fees and registration fees may be applicable for students over 19. Plus £40 for trips & visits.

Entry Level

These courses are for students who want to start progressing up the qualifications levels or have no previous qualifications.

Vocational Level 1

You must have a mixture of grades E to G at GCSE to study at this level.

Vocational Level 2

You must have two grade D's and two grade E's at GCSE or a relevant level 1 qualification to study at this level.

Vocational Level 3

These courses are equivalent to A levels, you must have at least four GCSE's at grade C or above or a relevant level 2 qualification.

A Levels

A levels are level 3 courses, you must have or expect 5 A-C grades at GCSE level including Maths and English.
Foundation Degree and Degree Our university courses typically require a relevant level 3 qualification or 120 UCAS points.
