Access to Higher Education allows international students to gain confidence to progress onto university, developing English Language skills and study skills. This course is perfect for those who are 19 years or older and don’t have existing qualifications that allow you to study in the UK. It only takes one year to complete, and is a direct route to University in the UK for mature students.

If you’re looking to study art and design at university, this access course is the perfect stepping stone giving you all the preparation you need. You will explore a range of specialisms and processes. As you get further into the course you’ll be able to develop your own style while learning about, and gaining inspiration from other artists and designers. Once you complete the course you’ll gain the confidence to apply to many of the top universities in the country.

  • Photography

Health & Health Sciences:

Once you have successfully completed this course, students can apply for degrees in General Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Paramedic Training, and Radiography. Study skills and a reflective diary are essential and it is highly desirable for applicants to be working in a hospital or care environment, even if only in a regular voluntary capacity.

Humanities combined with Social Sciences:

Taught across a range of subjects, students with study core units in Humanities and Social Sciences. Once completed, student will have a strong grounding in these areas and wide academic possibilities for progression to University. To complete this course you will need strong literacy skills and ability to work in groups. Students will be required to work to tailor-made assignments as their course develops, fully relating to their academic expectations.

Entry requirements:

  • A valid score of 4.5 or above in the IELTS examination or equivalent
  • Alternatively, you can take the free NCC Education Standard English Placement Test which is administered by our NCC Education Centres to provide evidence of an equivalent level of English language
